In gallery you can see new mini photoshoot of girls taken for WWD:

The women of Little Mix — Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock — are stacked four across on a couch at NBC’s headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, attempting to argue that they’re just your average twentysomethings.

“We do what we want to do, we act how we want, we wear what we want,” Pinnock says, over the playful chatter of her bandmates. “We’re normal girls.”

Throwing a wrench in this claim is the fact they’ve just wrapped performing on the “Today” show stage for a dedicated pool of fans — many of whom have been eagerly tracking the band since its 2011 victory on the U.K. edition of “The X Factor,” the only group act to do so in the show’s history.

Five years later, three albums and worldwide success, the quartet are setting their sights on the final frontier: breaking the U.S. market. From Thursday, they will join Ariana Grande on the road for her “Dangerous Woman” tour to promote their fourth studio album, “Glory Days.”

“We’re so grateful for every bit of success that we’ve got — our album went to number one for two weeks, and the single ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ went to number one for three weeks [in the U.K.], and it’s just been the most incredible year for us,” says Edwards, serving as a ringleader of sorts for the group’s interviews. “So I think that’s why now we feel more driven and more determined to come to America and have the same kind of success over here. On the Ariana Grande tour, it’s three whole months in America, so we’ll be able to work our little asses off and hope that it’ll do well.”

Breaking into the U.S. with a boost from Grande is a full-circle moment for Edwards, who introduced her bandmates to Grande’s YouTube videos back in days of “X Factor.” “Obsessed,” Edwards says of the pint-sized powerhouse. “I remember the first-ever studio session — this is an interesting fact — we had together as a group; we were sat in there, just like whatever, writing and recording, and I was like, ‘Guys, you have to check out this girl called Ariana Grande — she’s on Nickelodeon and stuff, and she puts covers on YouTube — please listen to her voice, it’s insane.’ And now she’s, like, one of the biggest stars in the world.”

Despite their age — Edwards is the youngest at 23, and Nelson and Pinnock are the oldest at 25 — five years in the spotlight has given them more than enough experiences for solid material.

“I think what’s different about this album is we knew exactly what we wanted to do with it; we put our hearts in it and it’s such an honest album,” Nelson says. “We literally wrote about every experience that we’ve gone through in the last five years, whether it be bad or good. We think [our music has] matured so much more.”

In that vein, it’s the music, they believe, that makes this the right time for American audiences to take a liking to them. “I think we’ve just got the right song. ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ is undeniable, I think,” Thirlwall says. “And every time we have come previously, obviously we love all our music, but it just hasn’t connected enough to explode. Whereas we feel like this could be it. It’s just a matter of timing.”

Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock about her style, her lifestyle blog and Jamaica.

Little Mix are a band that need no introduction. As the most popular girl group of the decade, they’ve had sold-out headlines shows across the globe, clocked up a handful of top 10 singles and amassed a fan-base of thousands of loyal guys and girls who would quite literally worship the ground upon which they perform their perfectly synchronised dance routines. With accolades and awards lining their shelves and their position at the forefront of pop music, Little Mix are a force to be reckoned with. Don’t forget that they’ve also made their mark as Wonderland cover stars.

With a wardrobe that includes perfect pink Moschino tees or beautiful Balmain ensembles, it’s no wonder that Leigh-Anne Pinnock is Little Mix’s go-to girl for style advice. With that in mind, we sat down with Leigh-Anne to talk about the thought process behind her styling, the importance of body confidence, her lifestyle blog and her recent trip to her home-from-home, Jamaica.

Firstly, how would you describe your style?
I love wearing whatever I feel comfortable in, I love trying new things, I don’t really like to label it! I would say I love to follow trends but I also like to try and create my own trends and try things that I wouldn’t normally see myself in.

So you love to experiment with your style?
Yeah, 100%! I don’t really like to follow the crowd.

Have you always been interested in style and fashion?
I have actually always been into it, ever since I was younger. I’ve definitely always been interested in it, and as I’ve got older the passion has just got bigger and now I really want to focus on it!

Who are your favourite brands and designers and why?
One of my favourite designers would be Louis Vuitton. I’ve basically got everything! I love Chanel, Chanel bags are just absolutely everything. I’d say I’m really into Acne. Who else am I into? Balmain! That’s like one of my favourites! I’ve got the most amazing stylists and we always work together to create our own sort of looks and trends – they’re amazing.

I can imagine it’s important to work with stylists that share your vision & desired aesthetic.
100%. I think these are probably the best stylists that we’ve ever worked with. Not just me but as a group as well, each and every one of us. It’s good to work with people that have that same passion and want to create things.

Obviously, we think that Little Mix look amazing on stage, but sometimes critics have said your outfits are too provocative, I was just wondering what your opinions were on this and how you deal with style criticism?
I think with us, we love to just wear what we want to wear. When we feel comfortable on stage, we’re not really interested in the negative comments that people are saying about them being provocative. I don’t even think they’re that provocative if I’m honest! Beyonce and Lady Gaga were all wearing a leotards on-stage and if I’m honest, it’s actually quite easy to move in so that’s probably why we choose them, because we do so much dancing and choreography! We are all so body confident now and that has taken a lot of time to build and the fact that we are, I think that’s an amazing thing and we want to encourage our fans and everyone to be exactly the same way – wear what you want and be comfortable in it and sod what everyone else thinks!

Definitely! I think that’s the best attitude to have really! We saw that you recently went to Jamaica. Tell us about that trip!
Jamaica is like my second home, it’s probably the only place in the world where I feel like I’m at home other than England and my grandad and most of my family live there. I’ve been going there since I was three years old, so like 20 years I’ve been going! It’s one of my favourite places ever. The food I absolutely love! Caribbean food is one of my favourite cuisines. I love the music, just everything. It’s got the best vibe, Jamaica! Have you ever been?

Sadly not, should we add it onto our travel list?
You have to go! It’s just absolutely amazing. Maybe I’m biased because I am quarter Jamaican but I absolutely love it! I think one of the best things on the trip that we did, Negril is like the longest beach in Jamaica and it’s got this place called Rick’s Cafe and it’s like a cliff where you jump off. The highest peak of it is really high and people do backflips off it and handstands off it, it’s insane! Last time I went I didn’t get to do it, at the last minute I chickened out so I was like I’m going to do it! I got there to the top and I was like sod this! I couldn’t do it! Too high! But I did the baby one!

You run your own blog – Leigh Loves – tell us a bit about why you wanted to set this up and what you’re hoping to achieve?
I think with my blog I just wanted have something where I could show all my fans what I’m really interested in and sort of who I am because obviously I’m so into fashion. It’s not even just fashion, it’s like a lifestyle blog, I talk about travelling because I love travelling. I wanted to do something that I could do on my own. It’s fun! It’s really hard though, it takes a lot of work!

How do you sort of manage to find the time to do it alongside your work with Little Mix?
It is really hard. I don’t really stop, I just kind of keep going! The girls are like ‘what are you doing, aren’t you tired?’ but I’m like ‘I need to do this kind of thing’ so I just have to try a fit it in.

In terms of outfits that you’ve worn as part of Little Mix, which has been your favourite?
There’s so many! I would probably say our performance looks have been amazing. We did a performance for The LOS Music Awards in Spain and it was like a yellow and black look. What I love is when it’s colour co-ordinated and we choose like a really bold colour! So yeah, I love our performance looks! In terms of my individual look, recently I did a really cool look on a night out with a Moschino pink t-shirt and these really cool metallic thigh-highs.

Finally, if you could give your fans one piece of style advice what would it be?
I would say, wear what you feel comfortable in and don’t follow the crowd, be who you want to be in your fashion and don’t listen to anyone else and any other negative comments. I think just do you and rock it with confidence because if you don’t have any confidence it’s not going to work!

Perfect life advice as well!

In just a year after the release of Get Weird, Little Mix immediately started working on their follow-up. In November, Mixers got Glory Days, an album that has the British quartet showing off their growth as a group. On their fourth LP, Little Mix are stronger than ever, both in their music and friendship. When the pop powerhouses visited the Fuse studios, we asked them what keeps them going and what it’s like to constantly be on the grind.

“Doing album cycles so close to each other is stressful,” Jade Thirlwall told Fuse. “Especially because we knew we wanted to get an album out as soon as possible. To be fair, the music did flow quite naturally, but we wrote the album and then recorded in, like, two weeks. So it was quite full-on.”

“At the same time, we love always sort of being around, if that makes sense,” Leigh-Anne Pinnock added. “We went away for a year before the Get Weird album, and it was the strangest thing ever. We missed it so much. I don’t know. It didn’t really feel right.”

Little Mix are unstoppable right now. Their latest album Glory Days has been number one for a second week running, they’re preparing for a huge headline tour in 2017 and they’ve just released their USA Pro by Little Mix workout collection. We sat down with Perrie, Leigh-Anne, Jesy and Jade to talk about their new designs, what’s on their playlist, and find out how to feel body confident in Lycra…

Congratulations on the line – how did you guys fit it in with doing your album? It must have been a crazy year.

Perrie: Yes, it has been very intense, but the whole team at USA Pro are so supportive. They have really worked around our schedules and were so hands on and helpful with everything. It was so fun designing the collection – it’s like every girl’s dream designing clothes, isn’t it?

Each piece relates to one of your personalities – did you ask each other advice, or did you just know what you each wanted to create?

Jesy: Yes, I think we know exactly what we like, we know exactly what fits our bodies, what we feel comfortable in, so it came very naturally.

Perrie: I totally knew what everyone’s designs were going to look like. Jesy, I knew yours would be black, it would have panels and mesh. Leigh-Anne, I knew yours would be fitted and really flattering on your body. And I knew Jade’s would be all cool and gangster and boyish.

If you could keep only one item from the range, what would it be?

Jade: Our joggers – we’ll probably live in them because they are so comfy.

Perrie: Yeah, I’ve already put a request for ten size 8s and ten size 10s of everything. That’s all I’m packing for rehearsal and tour.

Jesy: Mine would be my leggings and my hoodie, if I’m allowed two!

Leigh-Anne: I would probably keep my hoodie because it’s getting cold now and it’s really snuggly and warm.

How often do you work out?

Jade: When we’re touring, dancing is our workout, so every night we end up doing one and a half hours of aerobics but generally we try and work out when we can. Everything in moderation.

What are your favourite workout routines?

Jesy: Dancing.

Jade: Circuit training.

Perrie: Hoola-hooping is good.

Leigh-Anne: I love weights as well because it’s all about toning and I enjoy interval training too.

What’s your number one tip for working out?

Jade: Having a gym buddy to keep you motivated. I find it so hard to motivate myself. I have to do it with a friend, or with my brother, otherwise I won’t go. They spur you on and it makes you push yourself harder.

What’s on your gym playlist?

Perrie: I love Sexual by Neiked right now.

Leigh-Anne: Ah, that’s such a great song.

Jesy: 24K Magic for me.

Perrie: Oh, yes.

Leigh-Anne: I mean anything from the Little Mix album, I’m just saying.

Perrie: (Sings) “I’ve been waiting all night, no sleep…”

Jesy: Oh, The Vamps?

Perrie: Yes, so good. Shout out to The Vamps.

What’s your advice for feeling body confident in the gym?

Jesy: Wear something that you are comfortable in, take a friend so you don’t feel as intimidated, be distracted and have a little two-man while you exercise.

Jade: I think you have to remember that the people that are really muscly and toned at the gym, started somewhere. You have to remember that they didn’t always look like that, so when you’re in there don’t look at them and feel intimidated.

Leigh-Anne: And make sure you know how to use the equipment so that you feel ace when you’re doing it.

What are your top tips for eating healthy?

Jesy: Don’t have junk food in your fridge because then you won’t be tempted to go for the bad stuff.

Leigh-Anne: I’m obsessed with The Body Coach, Joe Wicks, at the moment. His books are full of 15 minute workouts and recipes and they’re insane. I think the thing is that when you cook and change it up you can eat really healthily and it doesn’t have to be boring. That’s really important.

What are your tips for staying fit and healthy at Christmas?

Leigh-Anne: Just forget it, it ain’t going to happen.

(All laugh)

Jade: I just think Christmas is a time to embrace all the naughty little things.

Jesy: Yes, I think so.

Jade: And then run to that gym in January and hope for the best.

Leigh-Anne: Go for some Christmas walks maybe.

Jesy: Oh, there you go, that’s a nice.

If you fancy a little more Little Mix in your life then today is your lucky day as apparently the girls are apparently planning to film their very own four-part reality TV show.

The concept sounds a whole lot like The Wanted Life and Chasing The Saturdays and is being described as an ‘intimate look’ at Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne’s lives as they head off on their tour around the US and Europe in 2017.

Set like a fly-on-the-wall type documentary, the idea is apparently to give an up close and personal look at life in a band and no subject will be off the record with the girls discussing every aspect of their lives as the show progresses.

While the gals’ record label Syco are still said to be negotiating a deal for where the show will air, they are clearly pretty excited and chatting about the big idea, Jesy said:

“We are in talks at the moment. We really want to do a documentary as we feel people do not know much about us.

They know our songs and have seen us perform but they don’t know our personalities, so we would love to do a documentary. We want to get someone to follow us around on this whole tour for a whole year.

And the drama. There is always drama in our lives. Honestly we actually don’t ever get it on camera, do we? So that will be good for people to see that.“
