Little Mix have now officially surpassed Spice Girls as “Glory Days” is now the girlgroup album that has spent the MOST weeks in the Top 40 of the UK Charts! It spent a total of 69 weeks in the Top 40 so far!
It’s no secret that 2017 was an incredible year for Little Mix. Not only did they dominate the charts with four massive hits (‘Touch’, ‘No More Sad Songs’, ‘Power’, ‘Reggaetón Lento (Remix)’) but they also went on the fifth highest grossing girl group tour ever.
Now their Number 1 album Glory Days has just become their first LP to be certified Triple Platinum in the UK.
‘Glory Days’ became Little Mix’s best-selling album in 2017 after it overtook Get Weird and now it joins legendary albums by iconic acts, including Destiny’s Child and the Spice Girls, as the only girl group albums to sell more than 900,000 copies in the UK.
And considering that the album is still Top 10 in the UK, it could potentially go Quadruple Platinum as well.
That’s not the only milestone that Little Mix have just achieved though. After spending an incredible 91 weeks on the UK albums chart, Get Weird is now tied with the Spice Girls debut LP Spice as the longest charting album by a girl group in the UK ever.
