The ‘Wings’ four-piece say they just feel like “normal people” despite their success over the past year.
Little Mix say that despite all of their fame, since winning The X Factor UK back in 2011, they still don’t feel like pop stars.
The ‘DNA’ singers, who have scored string of chart hits from their debut album, opened up about fame this week and say the thought of having a large fan base is still quite strange.
“I think the craziest part is having a fan base, having these fans that are so interested in how you dress and how you sing,” band member Perrie Edwards told Perez Hilton.
“I just find it weird that they are fans, because we just feel like normal people,” Jesy Nelson explained. “I’m like, ‘Huh, you’re a fan of me?’
“We don’t feel like pop stars at all,” she added.
Jesy went on to tease that the band still have lofty ambitions for their career and want to make sure their debut album becomes a hit all around the world.
“Hopefully in the next few months our album would be number one,” she added, regarding the US release of ‘DNA’ on 28th May. “We just want to take over the world basically.”

Little Mix doesn’t need much of an introduction to pop aficionados among you, but to uninitiated, it suffices to say that the girl pop outfit was the first group to ever win the U.K. franchise of The X Factor in 2011. The group has released several hit singles in the U.K. that now puts them in pole position for taking their success stateside.
The group of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall had some time left in their U.S. promo schedule before heading back to the U.K. today, and decided to schedule a somewhat impromptu gig in Los Angeles last night. They posted the time and location on Facebook earlier in the week to see what would happen.
Fans took notice and hundreds of them showed up at the Conga Room to see their Brit idols in person. Upon their arrival at a quiet back entrance, Little Mix looked over the balcony excited to see that so many adoring fans had shown up for them. As soon as the girls were spotted by the crowd, fans screamed and bursted out in a loud “Little Mix, Little Mix” chant to welcome the group in style.
The dolled up quartet performed four tracks including their break-through tune “Wings,” “Change Your Life” and a cover of fun’s “We Are Young.” I was impressed by their vibrant live performance that neatly showcased the group’s pitch-perfect harmonies and unique personal style. Judging from the group’s raw talent and the passionate response from so many fans, it’s obvious that Little Mix has all the makings of a supergroup and is on the verge of mainstream success in America.
