Little Mix have revealed that they didn’t want their new single to sound “too cheesy“.

The group described their new track ‘Wings‘ – which they co-wrote – as “feel-good” but still “cool”.

Jesy Nelson told Attitude:

“It’s a feel-good song. We want people to feel something when they listen to it. But we didn’t want to be too cheesy with the ‘Believe in yourself’ thing.

“There’s nothing wrong with writing songs about clubs and parties but I think it’s cool to do a song that means something.”

The band also said that there was “nothing definite” about Tulisa or Jessie J working on their forthcoming album, adding:

“We just wanted to focus on our own sound and hopefully after that… We’d love to do a collaboration.”

Little Mix recently told Digital Spy that ‘Wings’ was inspired by Beyoncé and Michael Jackson.
