Little Mix have revealed that they didn’t want their new single to sound “too cheesy“.
The group described their new track ‘Wings‘ – which they co-wrote – as “feel-good” but still “cool”.
Jesy Nelson told Attitude:
“It’s a feel-good song. We want people to feel something when they listen to it. But we didn’t want to be too cheesy with the ‘Believe in yourself’ thing.
“There’s nothing wrong with writing songs about clubs and parties but I think it’s cool to do a song that means something.”
The band also said that there was “nothing definite” about Tulisa or Jessie J working on their forthcoming album, adding:
“We just wanted to focus on our own sound and hopefully after that… We’d love to do a collaboration.”
Little Mix recently told Digital Spy that ‘Wings’ was inspired by Beyoncé and Michael Jackson.
Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade will be online ahead of the release of their debut single ‘Wings’.
Little Mix will take part in a webchat with Capital FM on Tuesday (24th July). Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade will be online from 6.45pm to answer questions on a mix of topics.
The former The X Factor stars release their much-anticipated debut single ‘Wings‘ on 19th August. The track is the first to be taken from Little Mix’s debut album, which is due to be released later this year. Little Mix shot to fame last year after appearing on the TV talent show. Mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos, the girl group were eventually crowned champions of the show after beating Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily in the final.
